Hello Dear One,
How do I find you today? Put your hand on your heart and take three deep breaths. Lean in. If there’s joy let it be celebrated; if there’s stress let it be relieved; if there’s anxiety let it dissipate. Feel your feet on the earth and your presence, right here.
There’s lots going in the world at large; perhaps in your world too.
Today I’d like to give you a permission slip to change your mind: about plans you’ve made, an opinion, what you want for dinner – anything really – without spiralling into negative self-talk.
This weekend I pulled out of something because I didn’t feel up to it. Instead I spent a day watching tv and soothing myself. I cuddled my dog and booked a massage. Changing plans doesn’t come naturally to me: I worry about disappointing others, that it seems ungrateful and that I’ll miss out. Still, I know the power of retreating at times, even if it wouldn’t make sense to anyone else. I let myself change my mind.
I want to encourage you to do the same, to embrace you as priority – no matter how daunting, foreign or impossible it may seem. If your skin has begun to prickle at the very thought of this the prompts below are a great place to start.
The last part is one of the most important for me, not letting my mind run away with ‘oh buts’ and ‘shoulds’. It’s ok to put a toe in the water and decide it isn’t the right day for a swim, you don’t always need to shove yourself in.
Thanks for being here and being you.
All love,
Jo
