Write to Bring In
Hello Dear One,
How are you? I’m experiencing a flurry of feelings right now, a bit like being inside a snow globe and waiting on things to settle. So, a reminder that the archive of these letters is always available, with prompts on different states of mind: from anxiety to joy to presence to kindness. I put a lot of thought into everything I share and know how powerful they can be to revisit.
If you’re living under the shadow of a new lockdown and want to crawl under the duvet and wait for the bad feelings to go away, cool. Give yourself time. The most important thing is to ask yourself: am I ok? What do I need? Multiple times a day. Really. You don’t have to jump into action immediately, you don’t have to know what to do. You only need to feel your heartbeat, remember that you are here now and you have already survived so much. This too will pass. Also remember that you’re on no one’s timetable but your own.
Now, onward. We’re going to think about what you’d like to bring to your life this year.
Over the last few weeks, I’ve spent a lot of time considering how I want to live in 2021 and what I need to put in place to make it happen. What last year’s lockdown did was help me realise what I can create for myself under the most restrictive of circumstances. So, I’m going to forge on with ideas for this beautiful new year. I want to read more, because nothing fills me up as much as reading, reach out to friends who make my heart happy, stay grounded but dream big. I want to feel like things are possible and to do that I’ll have to create my own momentum.
Have a go at doing the following. See if what you write brings you joy. If it doesn’t check in as to why.
I hope it helps. I also wanted to give you a little gift. I made a playlist for my workshop last week, full of relaxing and uplifting tracks and I thought you might like it - just go here. Finally, if you know anyone who would enjoy this letter, who might need a boost or a place to go over the next few weeks, please tell them about it.
Thanks for being here, and being you.
All love,
Jo
