Hello Dear One,
There’s something I’ve made progress with lately: accepting I can’t do everything. Sometimes schedules clash or my body is craving rest, or I’d love to say yes to a coffee, but rushing will make me feel flustered and anxious. There’s something I value more: peace and presence.
Here’s the truth: it’s ok to say no. Loving, even to yourself and to another person, who won’t only get a half-there you. It’s also ok to change your mind. And you don’t have to justify yourself; no one is automatically entitled to your time.
Practising this makes space for more joy. Instead of feeling distracted and guilty that I can’t do either thing properly, I’m noticing my new baby niece’s tiny eyelashes, really listening to a friend and seeing how pretty the sky looks.
One reminder I’d like to leave you with today is this: let yourself speak and listen. Build self-trust. Let go of ‘shoulds’ and encourage yourself to do the things that call to you most.
Thanks for being here and being you.
All love,
Jo
