Hello Dear One,
Last week I attended a sharing circle with my peers on a coaching training program, to celebrate the end of our journey together.
We journaled on our main takeaways from a year of deep work.
One of mine was that it brought the magic back. As a child, I loved reading and believed the world was a magical place. I used to look at lights twinkling in the distance and feel a sense of awe. As I grew up that feeling faded.
In 2018, when I was signed off work with depression – and later during the pandemic – the strangest thing happened. The magic came back a little. I noticed the pattern of leaves dancing on the wall. The way bath bubbles shimmered. The gleam of the taps. Pastel rainbows in a small pool of oil.
We’re used to writing things off, to forgetting that we’re on a spinning planet in the middle of space. I want to notice more. This came out in a coaching session as ‘consciously magical’. It’s not airy-fairy: it’s real. It’s paying attention.
Noticing things which fill me with wonder and awe feels good. It’s not reaching for something far beyond myself – it’s being in what’s right here.
How magical that this travels from my keyboard and lands in your inbox every Tuesday. And that if you’re not in a magical mood there are many other letters to choose from.
Thanks for being here and being you.
All love,
Jo
P.S. Something special is coming! I’ll include it in next week’s letter, or you can follow me on Instagram to be first to find out.
P.P.S This song 💫
I was similar as a child always full of awe and wonder but over time the magic faded. I lost sight of it but slowly it came back
